This epilator is great for fine, light hair. Coarse dark hair takes a lot more effort and needs some growing to work (which can be embarrassing). I let the thicker hair grow back for a few days and they still only picked up a fraction of it. I've found that using the epilator for as long as possible works best for me and then manually plucking the rest, which takes forever. It hurts more in some places than others, but you get used to it.
