The bases on these stands are good and heavy, the build quality is good overall, but the speaker mounting hardware is cheap, poor quality and awkward to use with some surround speakers. My Polk RM8 speakers use a mounting screw on the bottom of the speaker and it is very difficult to mount the speakers on this stand. The plastic retaining rings on the tripod legs are cheap and brittle, and both broke on the first attempt to adjust the tripods. Thankfully the speaker stand is pretty much set and forgotten so it's not the end of the world but these can definitely be better.
