I like this more than the white umbrellas because it directs all the light onto the subject rather than just scattering the light that happens to be on the subject. Allows for much better use of light sources by capturing and directing all light from the source. My only minor complaint is that the switch for my lights is on the bulb socket so I have to detach the diffuser every time I want to turn the light on or off. Although it's not a big problem.
