So I needed a speedometer for my boat, a reconfiguration of the layout resulted in a weight change, this meant I had to change propellers to keep the RPM in y in the right range My engines are from 4500 to 5500 rpm. This prevents over revving and stops the engine from dragging. That speedo made me realize I had to step back 2 inches to get the engine to the ideal 5500 rpm. For those who don't know. A 2 inch pitch equates to about a 400 RPM change using the same material, make and model of propeller. and only one step change. The hour meter feature is handy as it makes it easy for me to follow recommended service intervals instead of just guessing. That's important to me in the summer when we hike around the tuna all day.
