Brilliantly simple technique for connecting LED strips

Easy? Yes. Light? no In some cases, it takes patience and a delicate hand to get the job done. If you go with standard open pin LED strips you will find that they are pretty simple and easy to use. The only adjustment you may need is to slightly raise the contact pressure points in the adapter to raise them above the inserted tape. The real problem occurs when you use an adapter with waterproof tape. You'll need a very sharp knife to do this - I used a scalpel blade to cut through the epoxy down to the plastic strip, then pulled back several miles of goo with the scalpel to properly expose the contacts. I then used a scalpel to scrape the adhesive off the back of the LED strip to make it thinner. After both were done, it looked like a standard adapter strip. The good news is that the only penalty for making a mistake is having to cut off a few more inches of strip and then try again. Overall it's a bit pricey for what it is, but it's the only simple solderless solution I've found. And now I have some extras - just like you!
