It can be used to read both room temperature and body temperature with one button that you can switch between depending on what purpose you want to use it for. It also has a Celsius/Fahrenheit switch. I personally prefer the Celsius scale, but everyone else in my family prefers the Fahrenheit scale. I don't know why lol. If you need a memory function, you can try that too, but I don't really need such a function. All in all, this is definitely a great product for my family and I think my boyfriend will love it too.
