Although this unit may be a bit noisy at first, it automatically turns the fan off after a few minutes. I have a 4 door so it sits in the cup holder in the back seat and uses the rear seat USB port. I'm not sure how well this would work for someone who only uses it in the front seat because it has a cup holder and a USB or cigarette lighter port. It works great for me and I like that I can just leave it on because the USB port is disabled when I turn off the truck.
