Review on πŸ’‘ Hella 500FF Series Driving Lamp Kit: Illuminating Performance for Superior Driving Experience by Jeff Rubio

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Hella, cheap and brighter than LED.

Until I have some photos deep in the forest I have to. It's pretty damn bright compared to my low and high beams. However, I do not agree that Hella off-road bulbs still offer better overall lighting. Installed on Crosstrack 2015. The first photo shows the low beam with four Hella O/R headlights. The second photo shows Auxbeam Spot Lights. Installation was a breeze, it took a lot of fine tuning to mount it to the front of the SSD Rally Light Bar and connect it to the power distribution board. It took about 15 minutes to mount the headlights and run the wiring to the previously installed panel. I will say that the Hella 500FF is a great addition to the car. It has an extremely wide spread, photos don't do it justice, it's the brightest bulb Hella makes as an entry-level off-road headlight. I wanted to go with the Black Magic series but I'm glad I didn't. The BM series has the lowest light output of entry-level off-road headlights. I can go for black cases as they are also sold at Revain as that was the main selling point alongside the practicality of the flashy 500FFs. If I needed more than I don't have, I would buy Hella. again! The downside was the wiring harness and switch that came with the kit. Definitely not capable of running four lightbulbs on one harness. The instructions were pretty colloquial, the counter wasn't that attractive. However, it is clear that a harness can work if you can understand the schematic it provides!
