Excellent scanner - Uniden BCD436HP

Very easy to use. I just put the batteries in, turned it on, hit the ZIP button and entered my zip code. He immediately started scanning. Any channels you don't want to listen to, just click on the "Avoid" button. They will return the next time you turn it on. So if you never want to listen to a specific channel, double-tap the Avoid button. Then this channel remains deactivated. There is a setting in the menu where you can view all your avoided channels and unblock them if you wish. To adjust the volume, press the knob on the top and then rotate to adjust the volume. The USB cable powers the scanner even with dead batteries. Simply plug the USB into a computer or other USB charger. The scanner will beep and a message will appear asking if you want to use Datastore. Click the "No" button and it will start scanning if it is connected to the network. That's all I know about this scanner, so please don't ask me difficult questions. I recommend watching a video on YouTube on how to set up this scanner. This scanner has endless possibilities, but I only use it to hear the local police, fire department, ambulance, etc.
