I wanted to bring more light into our living room, a kind of soft light that is easier on the eyes of someone with chronic migraines. We don't have a ceiling light and don't want one, and while we have some great vintage lights, they just get too hot and shine too brightly in the room most of the time. I like her. I cannot express how much we all in our house (3 people) love these lights. It's so nice to be able to control the color, the brightness and whether we want the colors to change or not. I find it a bit distracting watching the show and my personal preference is turquoise, turquoise and one darker turquoise with a little more green than the other. I also love blue and purple. But red is amazing. For some reason this color really seems to have a tendency to fill the entire wall. I tend towards cooler colors. And if you need to read something while the light is in color, you can easily switch it to white for a better view. I love that they also run on my TV via USB. Outdated vintage bulbs seem to be really consuming energy and skyrocketing our electric bills. I bet these lamps will hardly affect the score. Before my adult son installed the lights, I had him dust the entire front and back of the TV with a special cleaner and dusting mitt that we got when we bought the TV a few years ago. He then measured where we thought the light would look best. I seem to remember that my TV is a 48 inch Smart TV. If you look at my photos you can see that we had the perfect amount (even a bit more) of light strips and connectors/tape to go around the back of the TV. We had a small issue with 3M tape sticking to the back of the TV, but we just used a bit more of our own tape on the back to make sure they stayed. I was afraid that the lights or the cables would get too hot, or that it might even be my TV, but it wasn't. These lights are great! I left them on all night and they still haven't warmed up at all. I talked to Ms. Chen about the problem described above. She's so easy to talk to and solve problems and all that. She listened to my problem and was definitely willing to solve any problem on her part. But I don't think it came from her side. It might have been the cleaner we used. It wasn't a product defect at all. I think it might be a combination of the TV cleaner and the position I'm holding the TV. And like I said, after we added some more tape, everything went smoothly. And I know we all really liked the lights here. We joke about what color we want every day, depending on our mood. It also has Flash, Strobe, Fade and Fade. But our sweet puppy has epilepsy and has had seizures in the past. I don't want to risk it, so we don't use those features. Although we tried them when we first got them when the dog was in another room. They are fun and will be great at a party or entertainment company. Something we don't really do. The instructions are easy to follow and include the connections needed to wrap the LED strip around the back. I personally find that lighting is a fantastic addition to the ambiance of a room. They're great just the way they are and a great deal for the price. I would be willing to pay even more if they could be programmed to specific colors (e.g. red to green for Christmas or red, white and blue for 4th of July or blue to white for Hanukkah etc.) and if they have a timer function. turn them on and off at specific times. But until this company offers these options, I'm just glad I can use these lamps as is.
