Without deducting this rating, I was initially very satisfied with the cup. You can touch it without burning yourself even with a cup of hot tea and the wood looks neat. However. it does not retain heat well. After 10 minutes even the hottest drink is warm. I also once poured myself some strong tea, and the smell of that tea seeped into the cup. Remember that there was no liquid in the cup for more than 1-2 hours. A nice solid looking mug, but go for some ceramic. Believe me.
