A Better Wheel - Steering Wheels & Accessories

Those old steering wheels have gotten pretty sticky and they're wearing down the grain and becoming slick. Before a friend spent $150 on a reproduction, I showed him the one I made for my car. He liked it, but he wanted it with a red thread. I ordered one for him and he used an old blue and green wheel that had a piece missing. I stuffed it and wrapped it in a Belinous leather case for a more modern look and feel. I wrapped the wheel in thick foam gasket before putting a boot over it. Align the seam down and sew. I showed him both the cross stitch and baseball cap (last photo) but he liked the cross stitch best. I did exactly that and it turned out really nice. I wrapped his wheel in a cross stitch pattern. They need to be pulled hard, but not so hard that they break. I never felt like any of mine could handle this or the previous one I did. I also regularly used my picks to keep it tidy. It takes a little practice to make false stitches around the needles with a small thread to make cosmetic stitches. It looks amazing considering how little I paid for the case. You will receive 3 threads and a needle. The overlock stitch requires only a needle and thread. Cross stitch requires twice as many needles and thread bundles. Baseball stitch requires 2 needles and not quite two full bundles of thread. As with my previous Belinous case, some of the holes were not fully punched. The leather stopper was still in the hole. Go over the cover and poke each hole with a needle to get it out of the way. Someone ripped out a few holes in other reviews. I haven't had this problem. Don't pull on it with all your strength, just connect the ends together. My buddy really liked his "new" steering wheel. It makes driving these old cars even more fun than it already is. This is my second cover. The first was black with black thread and is holding up well so far.
