I love it more than kittens at the moment but I'm sure they will discover its usefulness as easily as they start scratching and heading towards it climb my sofa. I bought this extra so it could be built into a cat cage. The playpen I bought to safely contain two little furry demons while I'm at work. I positioned it so that not only could they stretch out and scratch, but they could climb on it as easily as they could climb my curtains and furniture to get to their plush beds and hammock. It's so easy to use that I was almost disappointed. No problems, no tricks to make it work? Just boom, direct success out of the box? Wow! Prrrrrrrrrrrrrr! (Oh, come on. You know, I should have used a string pun. It's a cat accessory!) It's beautiful, sturdy, and well made. The brackets are made of decent steel, and the hardware is not superfluous. It's a much heavier side than the side of the handle it attaches to and comes with better mounting hardware than my over-stove microwave. Find out.
