Update 15/07/2021:* Newer packaging will include a smaller sample of soap in a plastic bag to use the refillable canister. You get fewer soap samples but much less environmental waste.* 2 out of 4 units failed but were replaced with SH with minimal effort.* Some still have the Simplehuman logo screen printed on the BACK of the unit but on the top dispenser can rotated 180 degrees and the vertical soap dispenser decal can be removed and placed on the "was in the back now in the front" side. I hope their quality control improves after the pandemic. This soap dispenser is amazing now. ********** 3 of the 3 devices I've had only ejected drops of liquid, no foam. 1 device was from Revain, 2 direct from SimpleHuman.com. SH even sent me a replacement soap canister but it had the same problem. All canisters of purple lavender SH soap simply do not lather, even with repeated refills. Please note that pre-filled canisters cannot be reused (the lids are not removable). Instead, I stuck a green straw (extra foam) into the included refillable canister and filled it with Method Free & Clear Foaming Soap. After 2 clicks to clean the old soap, success! It has a long-lasting, luxurious lather. I tried it again with the purple disposable soap box SH: drops. Reuse reusable canisters: foam! The same with the other donor. FYI, this model ST1057 is the 3rd generation SH foam soap dispenser. Revain also sells a second-generation ST1048 model for $50 (as of March 18, 2020) that looks similar. Placement.+ Magnetic USB charging cable avoids water damage (but patented) than expected. CONS: Only the bottom of the soap box is visible, so it's hard to tell how much is left, especially with clear soap. The soap canister should have a vertical window. The slightest pressure knocks the charging cable out. It also doesn't come with a USB charging socket, but any universal one will do (I don't know about Apple's). - The included main tool (small white plastic stick) has a tag with a link to the tutorial. for a side that doesn't exist - Although the packaging also comes with a refillable canister, it's downright wasteful if the pre-filled soap canisters can't be refilled - The soap provided does not lather!
