Review on ๐Ÿ”’ Sb Components Raspberry Pi 3 and Raspberry Pi 2 Model B and PiFace Digital 2 Case - Black: Sleek and Sturdy Enclosure for Optimum Protection by Kevin Hawkins

Revainrating 2 out of 5

WARNING: Doesn't close if you have the latest PiFace Digital 2 as the relays are too high!

Summary: The case WILL NOT close with the latest version of PiFace Digital 2 More: Based on feedback on the transparent version of this case, it appears that PiFace has changed the relays installed on the PiFace Digital 2 some time ago Time. The new relays appear to be 2 or 3mm higher than those currently used in the PFD2, so the case no longer closes as part of the cover interferes with the relay. Other reviews said they only cut out part of the case to fit, but I was also unhappy with the very loose fit of the cases. In other words, even when the case is properly closed, the side latches don't do their job very well, so the top of the case is likely to pop open with normal handling. Unfortunately, the case came very close to the perfect solution for this combination, which in my case was a Raspberry Pi 3 and a PiFace Digital 2 rev 3. I've attached some pictures to better show the case along with the problem. solve m. to have. If you need to figure out if you have big relays or not, I got about 18.6mm from the top of the relay to the board. My guess is that if your relays are 2 or 3mm shorter (I don't know the exact amount!), the housing will fit. EDIT: The original relays appear to be Omron G5LA and the ones they currently use are G5LE. The G5LA specs state a maximum height of 15.8mm, while the G5LE has a maximum height of 19mm. The difference is really between 2 and 3mm as I suspected. To check if your board will fit, simply check if your PiFace Digital 2 has an Omron G5LA-1 relay. If he has a G5LE-1, he will not fit in the current revision of this case. It is to be hoped that the manufacturer will adapt the design of the case to the new version of the PFD2 boards.
