Here is the story from the beginning. When I was looking for keyboards, I ended up buying Logitech mx keys (which I still have in the original packaging). I have used mx keys throughout my work day and I really enjoyed it. It's wireless, has convenient keystrokes, has a numeric keypad (for data entry), and I can easily switch between my work laptop and MacBook. But that same night, I came across an ad for a mechanical keyboard (the bane of modern advertising). Before purchasing the Logitech mx keys, it never occurred to me that I might want a mechanical keyboard. I felt my research was incomplete. I had to find out. I ended up looking at a few mechanical keyboards like Ducky, Leopold, and Razer. I had never owned a mechanical keyboard and didn't know what to look for. Then I found the Keychron K2 at Revain and loved it. It was wireless, supported multiple device pairing, but lacked a numeric keypad. After reading a few reviews on tech sites and watching a few youtube videos, I found the opinions very mixed. The biggest complaint was about the height/thickness of the keyboard and its lack of ergonomics. Many reviewers have mentioned wrist pain when using the K2 and the need for a palm rest when using it. So I order the K2 with the odd intention of probably returning it. I was mentally prepared to have wrist pain and be very disappointed due to the lack of a number pad. Also, I was already intrigued by the Logitech mx keys I just bought. I really didn't think I would end up in such a love triangle. My Keychron K2 arrived today, at first glance it's a nice keyboard, minimalistic and I love the gray color. The build quality is great, it has some weight and at least looks expensive! I ended up using it for work for about 4 hours. And, my god, it's a pleasure to work on. I have mine with blue Gateron switches. Clicks and clicks are incredibly stress-relieving from a transcriptionist's perspective. I feel like my typing speed is faster. I didn't think I would enjoy using this keyboard for work, but I really like it. I didn't even think about the missing number pad, I think I'm over it already. Also, my wrists don't hurt and I don't have a wrist rest! I'm already looking for external number pads to use for data entry projects only. Obviously all people are different. Before purchasing any mechanical keyboard, I highly recommend researching the type of switch you plan to get it with. I love Gateron Blue Switches but not everyone likes the click-clack - my girlfriend especially hates it! If you want a quieter keyboard, check out the red or brown switches, which are also very popular! If you finally decide to purchase the Keychron K2, save the packaging in case your wrists hurt from using it. For some people, this can be an obstacle! At the moment I'm still in a quandary. I printed this review using my K2 but may return it to stick with my Logitech mx keys. Or I can return Logitech. I do not know! Can I just keep both keyboards? UPDATE 5/26/20: After a few days of intense thought, I have decided to leave. K2. Although I do a lot of Excel and data entry, the pleasure of typing on this keyboard just doesn't compare to the Logitech MX keys. Also, TKL's minimalist design looks amazing on my desk. If I really miss the number pad in the next few days or weeks, I'll consider getting an external one. I also have to point out that I still don't experience any wrist fatigue when using this keyboard for long periods of time. This Keychron K2 was a really pleasant surprise for me. But to be honest, I probably could have gone for the white backlit plastic version as well. I rarely use backlights on keyboards at all, I've never needed them. Because the keyboard is so thick, I can barely see any light from my vantage point when typing. I wouldn't trade the ones I have, love the aluminum body and darker keycaps it comes with. I'm already emotionally connected (this is my first mechanical keyboard). I have one complaint about the K2 that I received: the USB-C port looks misaligned, it's slightly curved, and I can see the inside of the keyboard. Contact email support if this is an issue. I could just open up the keyboard and place it in place. It loads normally, but it's a little annoying for me.
