Review on ๐Ÿ“ท Enhanced Prograce Waterproof Digital Camcorder by James Hounds

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good enough, great for the price.

Best Details: It's super easy to use - kids will learn how to take photos and videos almost immediately. First of all, this is a camera, so the game's controls aren't confusing. He's super persistent. It has a rechargeable battery and downloads images easily. This is a great first camera for active kids. Durability: excellent. My 6 year olds ALL within days of receipt. They've had their cameras for a week and haven't damaged them yet. They've put them in and out of the waterproof case countless times, thrown them, thrown off the second floor balcony, used them underwater in salt and fresh water, opened and closed the port covers a million times. Cameras are fine. These things are very durable. Quirks: There's audio, which I've listed under video quality below, and a weird quirk with micro SD cards. SD cards are difficult to take out - you can't just gently pop them in and pop them out like you would with a regular camera. Instead, you have to pry them out with your fingernail. The pink camera was worse than the yellow one, but it's definitely weird and I'm worried it'll get worse as the camera ages. Image quality: good. Definitely better than many kids cameras. The pictures in this review are photos taken by my child with the camera. When held still, the image quality is pretty good for the price - the pink shirt image is a still camera, the fence image is the more typical 6-year-old's wiggling arm. Video quality: not bad if you keep your hand steady. So the video recorded while it was attached to the helmet and my child was running was not visible. Videos recorded on a flat road with my bike or helmet while my kid was walking were pretty good. The only downside I saw is that there is almost no sound. We had audio during playback and you could barely hear the person speaking right next to the camera while filming. It may be better if you tell the child that there is no sound so that the playback is not frustrating. Compatibility: So far we haven't had any problems opening images or video files on Macs and PCs. Additional features and controls: There are some games. and frames on it, but they are not in front and not in the middle (which I really liked). There are 4 buttons on the back to turn it on and off, as well as cycle through photo and video options. There are two buttons at the top: record video and a photo button. The ease of use on this one is SUPERB. Kids can get comfortable right away.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly
