When I go outside, the first step is very narrow and I have to concentrate very hard to get on it and not slip. It was raining the other day and I slipped off the first step, missed the second and landed on my back on the concrete deck. Although I wasn't injured, at 53 I'm too old to endure falls like this too often. This post worked great. It is "sticky" and sticks easily to the painted concrete step. The only preparation I made was sweeping away the sand. Shortly after I applied the tape, it started raining. I went outside barefoot and in shoes. In both situations I could feel the footing and not once did I feel like my feet were slipping off the step. I am more than happy.
