When I was living abroad, my host country aggressively motivated citizens to reduce disposable shopping bag consumption. One suggested countermeasure to over-consumption of shopping bags was "My Basket", which is basically your own reusable plastic shopping basket. I bought this to replicate the experience of using one.How much can it hold? Well, this is slightly smaller than a North American standard issue store-owned shopping basket. I was able to fit a good amount of groceries in there on a light run to my local market: A 1L jug of soy sauce, plus a large bunch of bok choy, 3 large canned goods, and a few packaged fresh provisions. These baskets are best for small grocery runs, or when used in tandem with other reusable bags. Seeing as this is from a Luxembourgish company, it would make sense. Their shopping habits may be different than us North Americaners, who buy tons of stuff all at once.These store easily, and are very light. Much faster to load up during checkout than a bag.One down side to this product is that because of the collapsable design, the sidewalls can accidentally become moved out of place if the basket is bumped into by something. This isn't such a problem if the basket is completely full.
