I can't give this cat jumper a 5 because I don't know how my cat would rate it or how well it wears and holds up after washing. However, my cat REALLY purred after I took off her other sweater and put this one on! I don't particularly like that it's made in China and 100% acrylic, but the small size fits my 9.5# Himalayan who was shaved before surgery. Also, it's about 2 inches longer in the back than the "dog sweater" I bought at Walmart, and that extra 2 inches gets closer to the tail and covers most of my cat's shaved back. This suggests that buying a CAT cat sweater will result in a better fit than a regular dog or dog/cat sweater. but the sweater can actually be worn around the cat's neck without unbuttoning (or just unbuttoning the top button). much larger sweater for an adult. but more people wear sweaters than cats, so expect part of the price to come from the special design for the cat. Before ordering this sweater, I have read the published information as well as most of the reviews, mainly under Learn about the correct purchase size. People's reports of sizes and fits were everywhere! I used the information posted by Expawlorer and the recommended size (small) is perfect for my 9.5# cat. My guess is that people who have reported/complained that their cats may have slipped out of their sweaters have bought a sweater that is at least one size larger than recommended - that's not "playing it safe," that is stupid! Pay attention to the manufacturer's recommended size and stick to it! (I confess, I first bought a medium sized sweater at Walmart. To my surprise, it turned out to be too big and my cat slipped out of it. Stay, but don't restrict my cat.)
