The buckle is broken

Bought 2 pairs for my twins. On both pairs, the pins on the buckles are VERY sharp and protrude right out of the shoes. The teeth don't fit at all when fastened. The shoes came straight out of the boxes. I can't have my daughters walking around school with projectiles sticking out of their shoes. It's a shame because the shoes are really cute.
