These are great for planting the items you are growing. After reading how to put a sponge under a potted plant to soak up excess water and keep the plant from drying out, it dawned on me why not use one of these sponges for this purpose. Well knowing this I have found them to absorb a lot of water, are odorless and very durable for the purpose I use them for. Also, they don't take up much space as they are very small and flat. Put them in water and they will grow to your desired size. If you have a small plant, you can also easily cut it in half with regular scissors. A great item, inexpensive, which can also be used for cleaning around the house. Highly recommended!
