My quartz countertop has a white marble look and was damaged by a couple of caustic soda pellets that got wet and left overnight. They are leftovers from careless soap making. The lye grains caused bright white round spots the size of a pea. I think the lye ate away at the countertop's epoxy and exposed the quartz powder, creating bright white spots. The surface was scarcely scarred, if at all. So I didn't have to touch up any stone chips or potholes; I just had to smear something thin to cover up these spots so they blend back into the regular finish. Long story short, I used a "clear" resin, glued a clear plastic strip to it, aimed the UV light as directed, and then sanded away the stain. As a result, white spots disappeared. After sanding I can feel some small bumps where the resin has been applied but additional sanding will smooth them out and they are not in commonly used areas. I have 2 chipped areas that I want to fill in with this kit and will be keeping an eye on the results. This set is $50 but definitely saved at the back by being able to fix the stains I did.
