The light quality of this product is excellent, everything is even with no light or dark spots. The rope itself is very resilient and flexible. The shape of the rope has a flat bottom, making it easy to lay on a flat surface. Its height is 5/8 inch. A rope has no "memory," unlike the unwinding of a new garden hose that wants to stay coiled. When you unwind it from the spool it will lay flat. It must not be placed in a sharp corner, but there must be a rounded curve. My setup was flat in a ceiling pan. Installing 80ft was fairly quick. The instructions were clear but I wish they were more complete. Dimmer (sold separately). I cut the rope in two places, first to cut the power cord to plug the dimmer in its place, then at the end. The rope cuts easily at the marked points with a heavy use Used kitchen scissors from Kitchen Aid that is very sharp and durable. The result is very pleasant. I would buy this again and recommend it.
