First, on 2016 JKU, the main install function (without daytime running lights) is plug and play if you get a fog light adapter (sold separately). Second, use ballast, trust me. Third, there are many ways to connect DRL and turn signals. Worth stopping there if you're not interested in electricity as up to this point everyone has probably complained that they don't work as plug and play as they ARE. The easiest way is to connect the wires to the turn signal. If you're feeling more adventurous you can do what I did right in the fuse box. Disclaimer: I am not an electrician or mechanic! They don't last as long as higher quality ones as they are cheap Chinese imitations.
