Review on Enhanced SGILE Network Tool Kit for Cat5/5e, in Sleek Black by Adam Bates

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The crimping tool is just plain sad. the fingers driving the pins in do it.

Only one problem with this kit, the crimping tool is just sad. The fingers inserting the pins do not match the pins on the connectors. Also, most of the time you cannot close the tool. It took me more time to fiddle with the tool than it took to actually crimp. The rest of the kit is suitable for casual users. There is no way I would want to use it every day. I give 2 stars because it was true in other parts. I sent it back and got a full refund. Update: The seller asked to test a different kit than the one I ordered and this is this review. The crimping tool in the first set was mentioned above and the new pair appeared to be similar. However, I didn't have the same problems with the new pair as I had with the first one. I crimped four pairs of wire ends and they worked as they should. I also had no problem with her occasional desire to close. While I wouldn't recommend this kit for everyday professional use, it's fine for my purposes where I need to make or repair network cables from time to time. If I had received this kit first I would not have had to return the first one.
