Our backpacks and toys are becoming obsolete and I know that for safety reasons there are warnings against using mattresses with 'after' written in them. However, since they have a tough childlike side, I was willing to give them a chance. The mattress fit snugly in our bag and played so I felt the child wouldn't slip next to it. And my 18 month old baby sleeps longer in it than in his own crib. I don't know if it's because he usually sleeps and plays in his backpack when he's particularly busy, or because he likes the plush mattress. However, the four stars in the rating are due to the fact that I was disappointed with the firmness of the child's side. I would be uncomfortable putting a baby under a year old on the mattress as it didn't seem firm enough.
