Too many cons at this price

This bag is not bad but it seems that the price is too high for a simple bag with so many cons. If you need Vera Bradley I would recommend Vera Bradley Performance Twill which is the best bag. BENEFITS - An attractive "rich orchid" color that looks like a borderline neon fuchsia. It's easy to see. Lots of pockets for organization. One of the side water bottle holders has a strap to tighten it. Great travel feature. CONS: The pure cotton material absorbs water like a sponge. If you can stand the rain, get a polyester bag. The bag feels too heavy and too soft for a large bag. Most of them are unlikely to be carrying fragile electronics in their bag, so the extra padding is simply unnecessary and limits interior space. Although the bag has many pockets, most do not have zippers for security reasons. There are 2 small front pockets - one is open at the top, the other uses a magnet which is fine but could accidentally open. The front zip pocket has 2 internal compartments open at the top. The back pocket is also open. The bottom line is that if you lay this bag on its side, a lot of things can fall out. This doesn't make it the best bag for air travel when you may need to place the bag on the ground overhead. The large main compartment closes with a zipper, but there are openings on both sides where a small item can fall out. The grips are not very well padded and feel rough. The shoulder strap is just a cheap thin nylon strap with no padding.
