I watch TV in my bedroom with the lights off. My laptop is by my bed and I regularly surf the web while surfing the web, but I can't see the letters on the keys when the lights are off. This great device solves that problem. Simply plug into the USB port, press the power button on the device and wave over the computer (in the middle of the device with your finger - I use a mouse) and there's enough unobtrusive light to get the letters on the keys right to see ). Brilliant!
