I use them to hold ink and detergent when painting minifigures. There are 24 in a pack but I've only used one so far - I only clean the ones I use. The palettes are fairly rigid and only flex slightly when you try to twist them in your hands. They are very light so you can hit and splatter paint/ink anywhere if you are not careful. Overall I am very happy with these.
