Being 5ft & 105 lbs I can’t use an adult weighted blanket because they are just too heavy. This child’s blanket is a perfect size because you don’t need the blanket to cover the bed. The cover is soft and removable. I run warm so I removed it. Washed the blanket on delicate and line dried it. So far so good but I do have a large capacity washer. Was hesitant since washing instructions said, "hand wash.” I’d like to try the 5lb blanket. For me personally the extra 2lb difference may be perfect. The 7lb feels just a little too heavy. With that being said, this is a great product-the weight is a personal preference.
