Very useful for plastic knives.
I bought this mainly because of the plastic salad knife. Carbon steel knives stain the edges of the lettuce a rust-orange color. They are surprisingly sharp for plastic. I have found that they are also very good for slicing biscuits, muffins, tomatoes, cakes etc. Personally I would be wary of buying them for young children. Be careful and watch closely. They are easy to clean and can be washed in the dishwasher.
