This was a rare luxury that I have dreamed of for years and I am so glad I chose it. Sometimes you get what you pay for and it pays to take the time to know exactly what you want, what works, and be sure to measure twice and thrice. I ordered brown, brown and black and I love all three. It's almost impossible to find ready-made 1-1/8" wide leather belts for shorter women's sizes, especially those with brass buckles, and black leather belts of any kind in finishes other than silver or gunmetal are virtually non-existent. . So I love it that I can mix and match them with any buckle, especially my favorite solid brass buckle. This buckle is designed for a 1-1/4" wide strap and these 1-1/8s will still fit on it. The little leeway makes it easy to fold over to snap and unlatch without being sloppy. So don't worry if you're having a hard time finding a 1-1/8" buckle; The more standard 1-1/4" buckle works well. What I like best is that I'm a petite woman and the standard 1-1/2" straps are too wide for jeans and five-pocket pants to be comfortable.They can also be too tight to fit through the loops of some wide loop pants that seem to be reduced in design a bit to suit a shorter, slimmer cut.I've had one for over 2 decades 1-1/8 wide full grain leather belt in a similar brown and wear it more than any other because it's the most comfortable and versatile style and color match various dressier pants and skirts as well as jeans and casual wear It's only worn out now these new ones are the same type of thick, full-grain leather as the seller describes - no layers - and look and feel like they'll last at least as long.Finish is smooth and supple to the touch, firm, but by no means stiff, the cuts and holes are immaculate. The folded clasp end is very clean cut but slightly thinner to reduce bulk so it wraps easily around the buckle and snaps securely into place. This is the only purchase I will never regret, I never tire of wearing it day in and day out for almost any occasion and now with all 3 colors I can do it! I may never have to buy another belt again. for yourself, that is. I'll be back for family and presents.
