Correct. At low speed, I was hit by a drunk driver at an intersection and knocked off my feet. My left elbow hit the ground, leaving a significant bruise. There are thick pads to strengthen and protect your forearms, elbows and shoulders and I can honestly say the elbow pad saved my elbow from collapsing on asphalt. The shoulder rest did a great job too. Yes, the jacket was torn, but it's a very small tear considering how much it slid on the pavement. She did what I bought her for, which was to protect me. Not to mention safety, the jacket looks cute! Padded throughout, it has a stylish stripe design, Velcro closures for waste collection and sleeves to keep the air out, and a very warm removable inner liner. I ride at +30 degrees and with a scarf protecting my neck I don't feel uncomfortable. I'm 6ft 0in, about 170lbs and the MED size fits me perfectly, in fact I can even wear a hoodie underneath when it gets VERY cold! Great jacket at a great price. Also a very SAFE jacket. Five stars!***UPDATE***I recently sold my latest bike and jacket to a friend who loves it. I bought a new bike and immediately went online to buy another one, this time in blue. Color to match my new bike. It looks and fits great and I get a lot of compliments from people on the cool looking jacket. So far this is my second and I'm very happy with it, not to mention feeling well protected when I ride. Milan continues to get 5 stars from me! *** UPDATE #2 *** I added photos! My first jacket (white) and my second jacket (blue) from Milan. almost as thin as in the pictures makes me look for a blue jacket so be aware that it's a lot wider than it looks! hung bicycles of justice.
