To mention that I am not responsible for ingrown hairs is a ridiculous understatement! I had ingrown hairs for 6 months after using it twice! Ingrown hairs leave dark patches and cause blisters up to 1.5 inches unless you catch them at the small bump stage. The hair is then encapsulated in scar tissue and to pull it out I use an acid based product to peel away layers of skin until I can dig out the scar with tweezers. There are many (hundreds!) and they are deep, and digging with tweezers leaves the area moist and open to infection or scabies. And they are PERFECT because I used the automatic setting. I've been using an epilator for almost 30 years and only occasionally have ingrown hairs. I literally took this thing in my trash can and smashed it. My face, arms, armpits, arms and bikini line are incredibly ugly, with scratches and open wounds so bad that I'm ashamed to wear short sleeves and go out without a mask. I have to stand by the sink several hours a day to pluck and treat it!
