I love these double ended kitchen sponges that have a gentle cleaning side and a soft washing side. I find the larger size harder to compress and squeeze. The soft side is like a towel and the size of the scraper has a texture that I'm sure would be safe on most surfaces, but I'd be wary of clear plastic cups. I've scratched my Tervis jars with a similar texture :( I think it's soft enough for non-stick pans. Those sponges have left water stains on my counters. It doesn't work as well as a cello sponge to almost dry smooth wipe hard surfaces. It's not easy to wring out with one hand. I personally prefer a scotch-brite sponge, so you can use a regular sponge on one side to quickly clean the counter. This scraper is gentler than a scotch-brite Brite Scraper.Page.I like this dish sponge as a washcloth removes food from plates,pots and bowls much easier than a cello sponge.They are affordable.The real test will be if they absorb the smell of a bird kitchen sponge.I will update mine Review. I'm always n Also not sure if I like them just because I keep wiping down my countertops and afterwards they have too much water left over. Size is hard to write but they hold soap well. They almost look like they could be used as a body sponge in the shower :) UPDATE: I haven't noticed any smells. I wash it in the dishwasher once a week. I don't use this sponge regularly as my arthritis makes it difficult to squeeze out. I prefer the cello sponge for wiping and cleaning. So I have both sponges on the sink. I use it more for pot cleaning. The white terry side is slightly discolored by food stains. However, I did throw it in the washing machine and it bleached the terry side. I like the scrubber side as it's easy on most pots and utensils. 2nd update: still resists odors but I've put it in the dishwasher and washing machine.
