I bought this entry level scanner because I didn't want to spend $550 on a Nikon. The SilverFast software is a joke. It cannot process output from a scanner. I have VueScan and Viola. works wonderfully. Scans are better than from a tablet and of course optimized in Photoshop. Take 1800u instead and save $10.
