Wow, works and works well!

The house we moved into had several old speakers built into the walls of two different rooms. Since moving in I've had my eye on such a device for us to use (or even see if it works!). We've had Sonos products for a while (since we needed a bridge a long time ago) and they worked well, but I couldn't stomach the almost $800 Sonos is charging for an amp, so I started looking for a similar device Looking for; I'm very glad I did. The Arylic Amp did a great job and deserves my 5 stars! Here's why: 1) It was really easy to set up (setup on iPhone using their app). You'll have to ignore the quick start guide that says you need to press the WPS button, which I couldn't find. All you have to do is (1) install the app, (2) connect the device, (3) connect to a temporary Wi-Fi network, (4) follow the instructions in the app to connect the device to your network , (5) connect the speaker wire to the connector, tighten the screws and connect the connector to the back of the amplifier. 2) It's stronger than I expected. I'm not an audiophile so didn't know what to expect from this performance. I was very pleased to find that it had more than enough power to power both of the built in speakers. In order to get the volume I wanted, I actually had to turn the equalizer (in the app) to its lowest setting and the volume still stayed pretty low, otherwise it was too loud. This leads me to believe that it can easily handle much larger speakers. 3) It just works. Serious! The amp immediately appeared as a target in the Spotify app. It also showed up as an audio target on my iPhone without me having to fiddle with anything. Spotify works better with this amp than the Sonos speakers we have. For a fun effect on iOS, I set it as an audio (AirPlay) destination and then used a text-to-speech app and my home read my email to me. 4) I haven't had any of the problems I've read about on other internet connected amps. There is no click when the device is connected. I have no problem keeping it on the Wi-Fi network. It just works. Finally, my vote of confidence that I read: I immediately ordered a second one :)
