I bought a size 14 for my daughter who was a size 8 because she was on sale for a lot less (almost $20) than her actual size. I tightened my waist on the sewing machine, and in the end it turned out to be slightly longer than the knee. It gave her floral dress the perfect shape and was comfortable to wear to the wedding and reception. I didn't have great full length photos of the dress, but the attached image gives you an idea of the delicate A-line shape it created.
