From the product description above it is clear first that the product is suitable for champagne bottles. The description below reads "Note: Champagne bottles are not applicable (Champagne bottle neck is larger)." So the description is misleading. Secondly, the description below says "Suitable for: 18-19mm inner diameter of bottle neck", but it doesn't mention that any bottle neck with outer diameter more than 29.76mm will not fit the cork. I measured the inside of the stopper and it measures 29.76mm. Note that the OD of wine bottles includes a ring of sorts under the top of the bottle, which is the wider part of the neck of the bottle. Therefore, please read the information in the following description before purchasing. If your favorite wine is bottled in a Bordeaux bottle, then everything is probably fine. It didn't work with my Chateauneuf-du-Pape or Gigondas style bottles. Update: Added a star because this works with Bordeaux style bottles. Bottles will not leak when stored horizontally as directed.
