I'm a musician so I have some very expensive mics too. Obviously at $35 it doesn't compare to a professional mic. But for the average person who just wants to record some voiceovers or have fun doing a beginner recording, this is great! Because it's USB powered, you don't need any other hardware to use it. (Professional mics typically connect via an XLR connector and require an audio interface to power them and record on a computer.) It's pretty delicate, like all condenser mics, so keep that in mind. If you're in your kitchen recording, it will probably sound like you are recording in the bathroom as it picks up reverberation from the room. If you get close and keep the levels low enough, you'll be fine. Tried using it a few times just to stream our D&D game - it worked fine for that but was too sensitive and picked up a lot of room noise. I'm not sure why it's called an ASMR mic since it's a mono mic (like all condenser mics). A true ASMR mic is a pretty specific thing, and it's not. This is a great budget mic for anyone wanting to try out voice, vocals or instruments. Try it at home with free digital audio workstation software like Bandlab Cakewalk (PC) or Garageband (Mac).
