I bought this monopod with the fluid head and it is the most amazing! What a dream come true. I'm new to this photography but I have a really good camera for bird watching etc in my heavily wooded area (Nikon P1000). It's quite heavy and the lens goes really far so I was concerned I wouldn't be able to use the monopod (like I said I'm new to this so I'm really nervous about dropping this camera) but I wanted this really something with a small footprint so after a lot of research I got this. I have a tendon injury and arthritis in my hands and the ergonomics of this thing are sooooo cool! Like I said, I'm new to this and have nothing but a cheap tripod to compare to, but I couldn't love it more! I'm also bad at following instructions and I put this entire setup together in 5 minutes - literally all I had to do with the monopod was take it out of the bag. I added a feature to the fluid head that may be specific to the Nikon P1000. It has a design flaw that the tripod mount doesn't shift the center of gravity to the right place. So I added a tripod mount that I found that has room to support the lens and adjusts the center of gravity accordingly. (Seriously, I've spent ages researching all of this and, boy, have I found the best solutions). But of course it's tucked in at the top, so I can still just pull down on the red part and pull it all out at once. LOVE IT!
