Well I had my doubts when I received it as I thought it was very cheaply made like something from the dollar store and it was going to fall apart. I did not. In use I've found it's actually quite durable, extends and retracts very well and hasn't fallen apart. The claw is great for getting that spooky itch all over your back. So I highly recommend this product and may order another to replace the old wooden backscratcher I've had in the bathroom for years (as I keep the new metal scraper near my living room chair. ALSO the metal claw is easier to keep cleaner) . than wood as skin bacteria can hide in wood (like a kitchen cutting board) but metal can easily be cleaned with rubbing alcohol or soap and water. This became a problem because I got an itchy rash on my back and thought it would clear up spread out and I didn't know if the cat brought some poison ivy or something and the scratch might have sprinkled it. The dermatologist said it was an allergy to the detergent I used on the bedding. The claw can be cleaned and I think that's a significant advantage over the old wooden scrapers.
