I always worry a little about the quality of the furniture if it has to be assembled. But do not question the quality of this item. Was not hard to assemble, even though it does require a decently good size area to assemble it in(a lot of pieces). Once I had the two main pieces together then I put it on the landing of the stairs and installed the middle shelves. Took about one and a half hours from start to finish. The finished product is beautiful and quite steady. Don't be afraid to get this bookshelf assembly. You will not be disappointed.
