This stool is a cute idea for a child's room. The fabric print looks real, almost like a real piece of tree trunk. I'm not very enthusiastic about the material itself. It is a soft felt material that easily picks up hair and other debris. The material is said to be machine washable, but the fabric on the lid holds on and doesn't come off. The ottoman was a little tricky to assemble and I didn't think it would turn into a smooth cylinder, but once the plastic supports were in place the finished product looked quite handsome. Given the thin plastic that supports the structure until assembly, I wouldn't recommend standing on an ottoman. It's small and narrow and easy to roll over. It would probably be ok for a small child to sit on it like a stool, but only a small child. The storage capacity is not very large, but it is suitable for small items or art objects. In addition, it gives the room a pleasant decorative look. Overall not a bad thing for a child's room, as well as a great place to store small items.
