A little background - I've been a musician and filmmaker for almost 25 years. I wore a lot of headphones because I had to, but I never liked them. I hate being tied down or tripping over cables, but the quality of most Bluetooth headphones is poor. In addition, the headphones always either pinch my ears after 20 minutes or slip off with the slightest movement of my head. So yes, I usually HATE headphones. However, I recently bought a house with my girlfriend that already had my dream - a small music studio and home theater rooms in the basement. Unfortunately the previous owners didn't soundproof the rooms and my girlfriend has to work early and go to bed early, that's when I most want to watch movies/tv or listen to music and our bedroom is directly above two rooms. The estimate I got for the soundproofing was in the $3,000-$5,000 range, it would make the already tiny rooms smaller, and there was no promise it would work. I decided I had to learn to live with headphones. My requirements were: 1) Great sound quality 2) Bluetooth but with wired connectivity 3) Comfortable enough to wear for hours 4) Battery life that doesn't require constant charging 5) Good noise cancellation. The 1000XM3 more than exceeded my expectations in all five categories. I really love these headphones, and while they may seem pricey, they're worth every penny (and we're a hell of a lot cheaper than soundproofing my basement). I love them and recommend them to everyone.
