Looks good but not for long. Terrible Karma

My mother gave me this umbrella. I've used it three times. The first time was ok. The second time was difficult to close. The third time it got stuck on top, when I looked closely I noticed that the plastic case holding the nib was broken and the nib was sticking out. I couldn't even close my umbrella. It went in the trash. I didn't have the heart to tell my mother. No good karma.
