Review on Enhance Your Audio Experience with Earthquake Sound SHELL SHOXX Tactile Transducer and Amplifier by Doug Friedman

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I really wanted to love it.

But I just can't. I bought it because I saw the Earthquake booth at CES 14 and was amazed at what I missed. Pros: A great addition to any sound system. Added to Logitech 5.1 setup for PC gaming. Really easy to install. Heavy traffic. Stronger than Buttkiker. Bf4 tank shots have never been so amazing. The first three days of use were amazing. But the impressions immediately went downhill. Disadvantages: 1# Not silent. I don't care that they advertise these products like an earthquake and headphones are a silent gaming combo. Because it isn't. Raw bass can be heard throughout the house. I like the effect, but that's not how tactile sensors are marketed. 2 # This thing is overheating like a son of a bitch. I was able to boil water on it in under 2 hours. Worst of all, my roommate knocked on the door and asked if I could smell burning?! I was so engrossed in the vibrations that I didn't realize the fat had boiled, and now my roommates all had headaches. That was the beginning. Soon the earthquake will only make a slight rumble and an even louder *pop* with each bass note. Here I am. I hope it's a coincidence. I looked for other reviews but Buttkicker is much more popular, the price, I'm sure the earthquake doesn't exist on the forums. So now my two-week roller coaster ride is over and I really want my ticket back.
