I went through the standard install and encountered several printer errors detecting cartridges. I've removed and reinstalled the cartridges multiple times, getting different errors a few times. After a few tries, I took a very close look at the ports that the printer goes into each cartridge. The cellophane/plastic covering the connectors clogged the connections to the machine. I took tweezers and removed the plastic from each cartridge. When I stripped the plastic from one cartridge, a rubber grommet/O-ring/plug came with it, which came in when the cartridge was fully inserted into the loaded position. I noticed that it hadn't entered like the other three. I plugged the connector back in and installed the cartridge. The printer still cannot recognize it. I took it out and checked again. This time the cork was pushed further down the channel to the cartridge's larger ink tank. I have good tweezers. I unplugged it and it still didn't come in. I reinserted the connector into the cartridge channel and then reinstalled the cartridge into the printer. It finally worked. I've cleaned the heads a few times and the cartridges print correctly. Throughout the process, a warning to use only Brother branded inks was flashing on my LCD display. The printer knew the cartridges were counterfeit. I do NOT recommend these cartridges. If I didn't know enough to make things work and take care not to let the ink smudge my fingers, this would be a total flop and comeback. Don't throw the dice.
