I bought this because I have chronic back problems and it hurts to sit on the couch or bed. It's made from stretchy memory foam and after 24 hours of stretching it offers very good firm support with plenty of material to get into the lower back, absorb the weight and allow the spine to rest. It works and I'm happy to keep it. The only thing that bothers me is that it's a bit small. I had one a year ago that was at least 20% larger in all respects and would fit me much better. The arms are so low and tiny that I don't get any arm support from them at all. My elbows don't even reach them. But hands, so that the back does not move. For some reason these things have gotten pretty expensive. Given the price, I'm happy to accept a few disadvantages. It looks like it will last a long time and I'm happy with it.
